Our sackbuts are built according to the scale of historical original instruments.
Our requirement is to build excellent and magnificant instruments that will allow the musicians to perform excellently and make magnificant music.

It should be remembered, however, that most of the original instruments are out of their original condition.
There are numerous evidences that the majority of the instruments found in museums have been restored or rebuilt and are therefore not in their original condition.
Often, the instruments in the museum consist of several instrument fragments from different centuries.
Therefore, we have developed our models based on the scale and sound of the original instruments, but with a significantly improved intonation and playability.
We build our instruments only in the best and historically authentic craftsmanship quality.

Of course on request, we can also make exact copies with all original dimensions.
But then we would also have to copy all the negative properties of the instruments, especially with regard to intonation and playability. In our large collection we have some original instruments from the 17th and 18th centuries.
These instruments serve as very good examples of our philosophy of instrument making.

It is important to us that we use the same craftsmanship, executions and, in some cases, tools such as the instrument makers of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Therefore, we do not have different versions of the quality.
We only build the best quality.
All work is done by us in our workshop. We only do not produce the historic sheet metal, the chrome plating of the inner slides and the lacquer.

The bells are hand-hammered, soldered with historical solder and beat to bell shapes, all tube parts are hand soldered and rolled.
The surface of the brass is polished or scraped by hand.
All instruments have elaborate renaissance - baroque or classical handcrafted ornamentation.
The bell rim is at the 3rd train position (as like modern trombones) or at the 4th slide position (historically correct).
The inner slides are with boots and chrome. Or on request, we also build the inner slides in brass without boots.



Unsere Posaunen sind nach den Mensuren der historischen Originalinstrumente gebaut. Unser Ziel ist es exzellente und hervorragende Instrumente zu bauen, mit denen man auch exzellent und hervorragend musizieren kann. Man muss jedoch bedenken, dass sich die meisten Originalinstrumente nicht mehr im Originalzustand befinden. Es gibt zahlreiche Belege dafür, dass die Mehrzahl der Instrumente, die sich in Museen befinden, restauriert bzw. umgebaut wurden und sich daher in keinster Weise noch im Originalzustand befinden. Oftmals bestehen die Originalinstrumente aus mehreren Instrumentenfragmenten aus verschiedene Jahrhunderten. Deshalb haben wir in Anlehnung an die Mensur und Klangvorstellung der original Museumsinstrumente unsere Modelle entwickelt, jedoch mit einer deutlich verbesserten Intonation und Spielbarkeit. Wir bauen unsere Instrumente nur in bester und nach historisch authentischer kunsthandwerklicher Qualität. Auf Wunsch bauen wir selbstverständlich auch exakte Kopien mit allen original Maßen. Dann müssten wir aber auch alle negativen Eigenschaften der Instrumente kopieren, besonders in Hinblick auf Intonation und Spielbarkeit. In unserer großen Sammlung befinden sich einige Originalinstrumente aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert. Diese Instrumente dienen uns als sehr gute Beispiele für unsere Philosophie des Instrumentenbaus. Es ist uns wichtig, dass wir die gleichen handwerklichen Tätigkeiten, Ausführungen und teilweise auch die Werkzeuge, wie die Instrumentenbauer des 16. und des 17. Jahrhunderts verwenden. Daher gibt es bei uns auch keine verschiedenen Ausführungen der Qualitiät. Wir bauen nur die beste Qualität. Alle Arbeiten werden von uns eigenhändig in unserer Werkstatt ausgeführt. Lediglich das historische Blech, die Verchromung der Innenzüge und das Lackieren stellen wir nicht her. Die Schallstücke sind hand-gehämmert, werden mit historischer Lot gelötet und auf Schallstückformen getrieben, alle Rohrteile sind von Hand gelötet und gerollt. Die Oberfläche des Messings ist poliert oder von Hand geschabt. Alle Instrumente haben eine aufwendige renaissance - barocke oder klassische eigenhändig gearbeitete Verzierung. Der Schallstückrand ist an der 3. Zugposition (wie bei moderner Posaune) oder an der 4. Zugposition (historisch korrekt). Die Innenzüge sind mit Stiefeln und verchromt.
